Cleaning
Your marble vanity, tub, or shower is man-made and represents a fine reproduction of real marble. Like
real marble, it is not indestructible. We therefore offer the following suggestions for its care and
maintenance.
1. The marble surface can be scratched and care should be taken to avoid placing objects
on it that might cause scratches.
2. Cultured marble is manufactured from a resin material that is not impervious to burns
and materials that might melt, scar, or damage the glossy marble surface.
3. Care should be taken in cleaning the marble with a non-abrasive substance. Scouring
powders are a no-no. We recommend using:
Formula 409 Clorox Bleach Clorox Clean-Up Gel Pro 50
Gel-Gloss Glass Plus Grease Lightening Step It
Top Job Original Windex with ammonia
4. Minor dents or nicks can be repaired by trained persons familiar with the proper
techniques.
5. Avoid excessive tightening of plumping fixtures which could result in cracking the marble
With proper care, cultured marble will provide years of satisfactory use.
Protection
The shiny look of cultured marble can be protected and extended with Gel Gloss. It is applied like a
furniture polish and will keep the new shine for a long time. Fiberglass boat wax is good. Take care to
not scratch the surface. Cultured marble is highly stain resistant, but one of the things that can cause
severe damage is nail polish remover.
Repair
If a chip or scratch occurs, professionals can repair the damage. This requires special tools and
materials and is not recommended for the homeowner. If the surface dulls, it can be repolished with
polishing compound and a power buffer. This is also best left to the professional.
